Basho {Eating Out Boston}ย

A few weeks ago, we enjoyed trying a new Japanese and Korean, Basho, a brasserie in Fenway.

We began with green tea – a staple for Japanese cuisine. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿฝ
I was a fan of the pickled cucumber Korean side dish.

For an appetizer, we tried a very tasty  spicy duck steamed buns. I like the Asian buns with spicy kicks.
Super flavorful and great flavors with the pickle.

Soondobu stew is one of my favorite Korean dishes, and Korean food is one of my favorite cuisines. I tried it with Pork but they are more known for the sea food version. I personally just like soondobu with tofu alone.

Okay. This sushi is Amazing. Yuzu (a small Japanese citrus fruit) with yellowtail makes this on my top sushi list. Avocado, cucumber and spicy mayo, wrapped with seared yellowtail, black tobiko, and a touch of yuzu sauce. You all have to try it if you love sushi! Salmon sushi is great too!

Look at that beautiful bite. ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿฑ
Historically, no Japanese dinner is complete without creamy, mild green tea ice cream. They did a special switch and prepared the molten chocolate cake with green tea ice cream. I think they should do this instead of vanilla every time.

I would happily return to try other options. The yuzu yellowtail was awesome and everything was great. Even the ambiance was chill – it’s a great spot to catch up with friends. I loved how families had kids around too. Finding a place to eat that works for everyone from families to working professionals is a treat!

Let me know what you think if you go.

Happy Eating!
