Versatile, Chic, & Cozy – my favorite blanket scarf @ilymix + the perfect brooch to go with it!

Cozy chic style inspiration —-> incoming!

I won a giveaway thrown by fab fellow-Bostonian fashionista, D*Marie of  A Chic Voyage and got to choose a lovely @ilymix blanket scarf (thank goodness they’re in style because I NEED them to wrap me up in the chilly fall-winter-spring month stretch in New England). Is anyone surprised that I chose a double-sided scarf so I can get twice the wear out of it? 🙂  See how I style a classic tartan plaid blanket scarf by dressing it up & with my usual cozy chic à la the BlueBoots personal flair.

Dress up

I wore it out to a festive dinner at towne stove and spirits (first time – it was delightful) in Boston. It’s right next door to the brand new EATALY!

dress: anthropologie a few years ago. Heels with bows: prego, Brazil. Cuff and ring : alexis bittar. Hair: by living proof stylist Molly!
autumn pear salad. PHENOMENAL. Perfect flavors + high quality burrata mozzarella

excellent cook on that organic grass fed steak + frites, and I love skinny frites
mmm delicious lobster mac & cheese
<3 festive restaurants. We loved it! They have different dining areas – good for getting groups together – I can see a small birthday party happening here.
food is almost all gone… 🙂

My usual cozy chic

I also threw it on casually as a wrap – but I added an extra special element – a unique brooch to pin it together with panache.

Some of you may know that I’m also an artist and own a shop Inspirée by S, and those of you who share my artistic inclinations might understand the feeling to create.

I had a second-hand bracelet and a pair of vintage wooden, painted earrings with charms that I loved the style of, from B’s grandma’s costume jewelry collection. Although I didn’t think I would wear the earrings myself on my ears, I held onto this special piece until I was inspired to take the pieces apart and create something brand new and unique.

…A little hot glue, scissor action, and then I painted flowers on each of the petals of this festive “peacock” brooch. I also upcycled (drum roll…) the packaging ribbon from a supppper soft primark blanket I bought at their blogger opening event at their new location in Burlington, MA to make the ribbon, added shimmery gold paint, and a pin on the back – voilà.
