stila– stay all day lip color {series: BlueBoots Beauty Reviews}

When I was a young gal, I was all about the stila lip glaze.

They all smelled nice, were nice and glossy, came in bright, fruity shades, and it was the thing a high school gal had to have. Well, In addition to lots of other things – I grew up in a place where people were wealthy, and just about anyone could tell. I wasn’t, so it was a confusing place for a young girl to grow up in in that respect. It seemed like everyone had the latest prints, bags, polos, fleeces…the list goes on.  We moved there for the education.

As a young adult, my corner of the world of beauty products, fragrances, fashion and style was littered throughout the years with colors that didn’t look good, clothes that gradually fit better, and a ton of beauty products that irritated my face or weren’t meant to go on it. The worst type of makeup for me that I haven’t mastered is a good eyeliner, but lipstick used to be a close second – so many things wrong with the way it would look on me, and it looked messy and not at all neat and professional.

I don’t wear a lot of makeup at all, and most days I go without, but I’m happy to say that I’ve learned some lessons along the way of finding favorites that make me look and feel my best.

From time to time, I’ll share some of my most favorite products and tell you about them.  If you’re not interested in beauty products, never fear!! My regular content is still on queue, but I’d like to add some variety. Ok? Reading other people’s comments and reviews of products has helped me some, so I’d like to do the same for any readers who are interested.

Ok, let’s go!

 I love Nordstrom – and wish it was closer by. They do, however, have a fabulous free shipping and free returns policy, and have tremendous customer service. I ordered this stla stay all day lip color when I was researching lip colors that would look good on my skin and would not smear all over my face if I had coffee or snacks, or all over my winter scarves and coats. I came across this one, but alas, it was backordered. Ordered in October, received in March…it’s a long time. But Nordstrom was able to track down one in this beautiful Aria color (also the name of a gorgeous restaurant overlooking the Sydney Opera House that I took B for his birthday dinner on our honeymoon – awww!)

Put on a bit of chapstick or your choice lip moisturizer, I like Clinique’s superbalm lip treatment (I should review this one too!)

and put the little wand applicator to work, lining lips first and then filling in. This lip color looks like a gloss but dries matte and doesn’t budge. Really.

Have any of you tried it out? What do you think? It’s my fun yet no-nonsense (no budging) color. Do you think the color can work year round? Let me know what you think 🙂
