Although I haven’t been posting any spiritual enjoyment too lately, rest assured, I have been still been enjoying scriptures. On Saturday nights, I’ve been enjoying spending time with junior high and high schoolers to get into the Word together and develop their relationship with God. We eat, catch up, laugh, sing, and fellowship together. It’s been sweeter as the weeks go by to know the Christ in them, and also a group of interesting people: some simple, sweet, and others bold and funny, and still others serious and thoughtful. In recent weeks, we’ve been going through the history of Christians through the ages and on specific spiritual patterns and their testimonies of how they came to appreciate and appropriate their salvation, standing on the revelation of all those before them.
From this past week, one set of verses that is just so sweet to me shows us a very personal side of God who wants to reach us and cares deeply about us. God is a God of peace, of hope, and doesn’t want to remain far from us. He wants us to find Him, and He loves us. Very much. Enjoy.
Jeremiah 29:11-14
For I know the thoughts that I think about you, declares Jehovah, thoughts of peace and not for evil, to give you a latter end and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you; and you will seek Me and find Me if you search for Me with all your heart; and I will be found by you, declares Jehovah. And I will turn your captivity and gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, declares Jehovah, and bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.
