Whole Foods – Welcome to the Sudbury Neighborhood! To celebrate the new store, enter to win a Whole Foods Gift Card, now till July 15!

As an adventure blogger, I consider myself blessed that somehow when I sign up for one adventure, another tags along, grinning and spinning alongside it. I had the chance to preview a brand new Whole Foods in a historic neighborhood in Sudbury, MA, an area I haven’t ever visited before. Let me tell you, there are some exciting new-to-Whole Foods elements that are at this newly-built location.  Read on, because I’m teaming up with Whole Foods Sudbury, and to celebrate opening week (they opened on Saturday July 8, 2017) I’m giving you all a chance to win a $25 gift card to Whole Foods! That’s what I call a wellness community, am I right?

Fresh Produce at Whole Foods

Whole Foods is one of three retail spots that have the effect of cheering me up (the others are Nordstrom and Crate & Barrel if you’re curious 🙂 ) The bonus with Whole Foods is that all the yummy food -eye candy- is also better for you. I browse the new prepared food, admire the produce, stroll down the Whole Body section and make notes of new skincare and beauty I want to try, all while getting my groceries.

Whole Body Section - Whole Foods Sudbury
The drive from Boston to Sudbury took me through a scenic residential tour of beautiful Weston and Wayland – gorgeous homes on vast estates. Sudbury was incorporated in 1639, and as I drove through, I was instantly impressed afresh with the rich American history of this area in New England.

This 45,000 sq.ft. store packs in some local punch, with high ceilings, tall windows, a large kid zone, bright yellow decorative accents, and special local foodie favorites like Pressed Juicery and Clover Food Labs, right in store!

Whole Foods Sudbury Opening
This is the first in-store location in Whole Foods of Pressed Juicery – born in Beacon Hill, but has since spread across the USA with a loyal following.

Pressed Juicery Founders

First Pressed Juicery in Whole Foods!

Fans of this healthy outlet for juices will enjoy these quality, healthy menu choices that are ready to pick up and go. An on-point living wall at Pressed Juicery Whole FoodsThey have Grab n’ Go prepared foods, smoothies (like their famous Calm one, which I tried and is, indeed, delicious) and toasts (y’all love a good Avocado Toast to go).

Pressed Juicery Samples at Whole Foods SudburyThey also have their signature paletas – popsicles in innovative flavor combinations that change with the season! I can’t wait to try one of those!

Clover Food Lab was born as a food truck, and has since grown with restaurants in Cambridge, Brookline, and Boston. They serve a simple menu sourced from local farmers with organic ingredients. They also have kids menus, and will be launching new breakfast options soon.

Have a sweet tooth? Whole Foods Sudbury is debuting a self serve macaron bar to get your Parisian treat fix.

They also have a self serve mochi bar with more new flavors, like mint chip, sea salt and caramel, and cookie dough!

Mochi Ice Cream at Whole Foods They also have a mini donut stand where fresh donuts will be churned out daily. None of these sweets have ANY artificial colors in them. Thumbs up.

Churn out your own nut butters, including new combos that the flavor developers at the store come up with!

Kombucha, colorado-based Allegro tea and coffee, are available to quench your thirst as you shop or for a nice break.

Sustainability in fishing is something that has come into my consciousness lately.

Whole Foods sells fish according to a sustainability scale with a simple color code, and they never sell fish in the RED zone, which has been overfished. When you go to the fish counter, your fish will not be over a bed of ice – they’re debuting a new look here where the fish are on the case, and ice cools the fish at temperature from below.

Speaking of sustainability, I learned about Whole Trade, where anything in store with that sticker comes with a guarantee that the product meets strict product Quality Standards, that it provides more money to producers, and that they have ensured better wages and working conditions for workers.

Their mission to help shoppers make informed decisions that are better for them and for the planet is great!

On a special diet? This location has a Paleo Island with paleo approved foods between Dairy and Meat to make a one-stop-shop for you.

If you’re picking up food for a party, you have got options. Call ahead and pick up sushi – including sushi donuts (!!!) which are tasty as they are pretty. They also will have DIM SUM! How neat is that?

You can grab burritos, charcuterie, and also whole pizzas to go – call ahead and they’ll be ready for you (just like a rotisserie chicken!). They bake fresh loaves of bread right in house, and you can take a loaf, slice, and bag it right there and it will be ready.

They also support local with a neat part of the meat department: they age steak with local whiskey from Boston Based Bully Boy Distillers, which lends the flavor of whiskey without the alcohol.

Did you know that you can try ANYTHING at Whole Foods? Ask a sales associate (nicely), and they’ll open up a package for you.

My favorite store-bought vitamin zinger juice is on sale!

Crispy Rice Treat Tower - Whole Foods
